Role Description

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Fleet Manager to lead the maintenance, operation, and optimization of our fleet of trucks, trailers, snow equipment, and small machinery. This role is essential to keeping our teams running efficiently and safely throughout all seasons. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, organized, and passionate about preventative maintenance, cost control, and supporting field operations.

This position is full-time, in person, and 40 hours per week. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and long-term strategy of our fleet, including vehicles, trailers, snow removal equipment, and small machines.

  • Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules and repair programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of fleet assets.

  • Coordinate repairs with internal mechanics and external vendors, ensuring work is completed safely, on budget, and on time.

  • Monitor fleet performance and expenses, track key metrics (fuel usage, maintenance costs, utilization), and suggest improvements.

  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment meet DOT and company safety compliance requirements, including inspections, licensing, and documentation.

  • Support seasonal readiness for snow and landscape operations (equipment setup, storage, de-icing systems, etc.).

  • Maintain accurate records in fleet management software and ensure inventory of parts and supplies is well-stocked.

  • Collaborate with operations leaders and crew supervisors to ensure equipment availability and functionality aligns with project needs.

  • Assist with equipment purchasing decisions and specifications based on company growth and operational goals.

Ideal Candidate

  • 3+ years of experience in fleet or equipment management, preferably in a landscape, construction, or snow services environment

  • Strong knowledge of vehicle/equipment diagnostics, maintenance practices, and vendor negotiation

  • Familiarity with DOT regulations, safety standards, and fleet management software

  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive mindset

  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative attitude—you enjoy being part of a hardworking, positive team

  • Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus but not required)

  • Is extremely responsive and personable to our internal clients

  • Pays strong attention to detail
